This travel award is meant to partially support CS graduate/undergraduate students to attend a conference to present a paper that they are a coauthor. Their affiliation must be listed as University of Pittsburgh (Department of Computer Science) on the paper.
The award may be given once per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30 of the following year) per student. The end date of the conference is used to determine the fiscal year. The travel award is capped at $600. It is assumed that the student will make every effort to keep travel costs as low as possible and look for other available funding before applying.
Please note that:
- The Department Chair must approve the request prior to travel.
- By accepting this travel award, the student commits to give a talk or present a poster, when the CS Department requests it.
- You need to coordinate with Michele Thomas on how to pay for conference travel (in advance of any payments made). The process has changed: you cannot pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later.
