Textbook: Microsoft Office 2003 The O’Leary Series, Tim O’Leary and Linda O’Leary. 

 

Required Resources:

  • University computer account
  • a few diskettes or a USB Flash drive.

 

Prerequisites: no prerequisites

 

Goals: The goal of this course is for you to familiar yourself with computer and common productivity software.

o        Components of a computer

o        Windows XP

o        Web browsers

o        Microsoft Word

o        Microsoft PowerPoint

o        Microsoft Excel

o        Microsoft Access

o        Microsoft Outlook

 

Course format:

We meet twice a week.  Each week consists of a lecture, an in-class lab, homework. 

 

Grading: The break down is given below.

  • Midterm: 20%
  • Final: 30%
  • Homework, projects, labs: 45%
  • Pop Quizzes: 5% 
  • A: 90-100%
  • B: 80-90%
  • C: 70-80%
  • D: 60-70%
