The directory for installation was /usr/local/bin

• A new version of gs was installed on the elements machines (version 8.14), (gs tutorial).

The directory for the following installation was /usr/local/contrib/bin

• The pdf toolkit (pdftk), a software for manipulating pdf documents was installed on the elements machines and on blitz.
