Currently, I'm working toward my PhD degree at my advisor's (Dr. Milos Hauskrecht) Lab at University of Pittsburgh. Moreover, I have worked for other labs in the university as Research Assisstant as well as for companies in industry as Research Intern. The major areas of my past experience are:

Industry

	Microsoft Research (June 2011 - September 2011) I was a Research Intern at Machine Learning and Applied Statistics (MLAS) group at Microsoft Research lab, Redmond, WA. At MSR, I developed and implemented a fast mode-seeking clustering framework for non- Euclidean spaces. My mentor was Bo Thiesson.
	Intel Labs Pittsburgh I was a Summer Research Fellow at Intel Labs Pittsburgh during summers 2009 and 2010: (June 2010 - September 2010) I designed a mathematical framework for analyzing Human Brain Connectome datasets. My mentors were Denver Dash and Mei Chen. (June 2009 - September 2009) I Designed a human-like online Causal Discovery model. My mentor was Denver Dash.
	iVisioTech Co. (September 2006 - July 2007) I was a member of R&D team at iVisioTech Co. In particular, I designed and developed fast image and video processing algorithms for a real-time visual surveillance system.

Academia

	BLULab - Univ. of Pittsburgh (June 2008 - May 2009) In Biomedical Language Understanding (BLU) Lab, I developed structure discovery methods to deal with temporality in medical texts. I was supervised by Dr. Wendy Chapman.
	Decision Systems Lab - Univ. of Pittsburgh (February 2008 - May 2008) I was part of the development team for GeNIe & SMILE project at Decision Systems Lab (DSL). In particular, I designed and developed the structure learning module for Bayesian Networks. I was supervised by Dr. Marek Druzdzel.
	Robotics & AI Lab - Univ. of Tehran (September 2004 - August 2006) I was a Research Assisstant at Robotics and AI Lab. I worked on mobile robot vision and navigation methods. My advisor was Dr. Majid Nili- Ahmadabadi.
