I have a daughter!
- My first child was born on December 18, 1995. Her name is
Thalia Maria .

Greek mythology, the goddess of comedy and laughter !

Nobel Prize...not for me, but..
- My father, Kypros Chrysanthis, M.D., Ph.D. has been
renominated for 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature...the excitement continues!

Panos' first Book...
- My first book, an IEEE Excecutive Briefing, was published in September 1996.
It is called
Advances in Concurrency Control and Transaction Processing,
and is co-authored with Krithi Ramamritham of UMass.

Teaching Award... -
I got my third teaching award in two years in a row from my department. This
year, I got the Computer Science Teaching Award for
effectiveness in teaching of a service course during 1995-96. Last
year, I got the same one as well as the Computer Science Teaching
Award for effectiveness in teaching of a graduate elective
course during 1994-95.

Good news... - I
am on sabbatical at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) until next Summer
(August 2000).

Sad
news... - My father, Kypros Chrysanthis, M.D., Ph.D. is
not longer with us. He died on June 5, 1998 in Cyprus. (Obituary)
