Exam format:

1. For each topic, Mihai will prepare a write-up that addresses the themes listed in the reading list. Each write-up will involve the analysis and synthesis of the papers on the reading list. The write-ups should be finished no latter than one week before the exam date (May 12).

2. According to the CSD guidelines, the oral exam should take 60-90 minutes, and can include a prepared presentation of approximately 30 minutes.

3. Committee members vote by private ballot with the final grade being PASS, CONDITIONAL PASS, or FAIL. Dr. Litman is asked to secure the signatures of the committee and give the required forms to the Graduate Programs Office Secretary (Ms. Loretta Shabatura), and communicate the results to Mihai. In case of a conditional pass, Dr. Litman will list the conditions and time limits explicitly for Mihai and for his file in the CSD.
