Embedded Systems
Three distinguishing features of Embedded systems are (1) fixed
applications, (2) real-time, and (3) limited memory.
For applications which require high speed computation,
application specific Integrated circuits (ASIC) may offer the best solutions.
Because semiconductor memory consumes most electric power, embedded systems
particularly those powered by battery have limited memory.
My interests in embedded system design centered on the following
two problems.
1. Design of image/signal processing ASICs.
current project:
Partition of Non-uniform Linear Recurrence
2. Efficient memory use in small memory systems.
Current projects:
Minimizing memory in ASIC by using multi-level pipelining
Light weight shared distributed memory
