SOFTWARE SUPPORT ENGINEER Wexford, PA COMPANY: We are working with a growing North Pittsburgh company that develops process control and automation software for a specialized manufacturing industry. This company consists of a small group of customer service driven employees who strive to provide their customers with state of the art software solutions, comprehensive on site installation and training, and 24 hour customer service. POSITION: We are seeking a Software Support Engineer to join this company as an addition to their staff. This person will travel domestically a minimum of 30% of the time with minimal international travel. Specific responsibilities include: • Providing support for new software applications and modules. • Providing support for existing programs and modules. • Providing telephone and remote support to customers on a 24/7 schedule. • Providing application training to customers on site. • Domestic travel required: 30% minimum travel; there is a chance for some travel outside the continental United States. • Debugging of existing applications to identify and correct reported bugs. • Participating in code reviews and unit testing. • Participating in application builds and installation programs for the applications. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience. • 1 - 3 years of professional software development experience a plus, but not required. • Working knowledge of Visual Basic 6, Visual C++ 6, and / or Visual C#. • Working knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server and Microsoft Access. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong communication and technical skills. • Experience writing technical documents, functional specifications, etc. • Experience using Crystal Reports a plus but not required.
