Providing high school students opportunities, tools, and motivation to excel in Computer Science.
TLI is an opportunity for your student to get a head start on their career in computers and technology. Is your student interested in Web design? Robotics? or Computer Programming? Then TLI is for your son or daughter!
Your son or daughter will spend six weeks at the University of Pittsburgh taking classes in Computer programming, Web design, Mathematics and Computer Systems. In addition to the classes, they will interact with college students, professors and Information Technology professionals. TLI is an academically rigorous program, but we understand it is the summer and we don't want to be cooped up in the classroom! Lunch is held in the Cathedral of Learning- where students can network with the numerous of other high school and college students on campus for the summer - or in Schenley park or sometimes we have guest speakers. Last years guest speakers included Dr. Rebecca Hwa who introduced us to Artificial Intelligence, as well as visits from Microsoft and Compunetix. The summer also includes field trips - last year we visited the Supercomputing Center and FedEx Ground sponsored a career shadowing day where students had the opportunity to follow an IT professional for the day.
If your child is interested in computers and technology, its time they get a head start by spending their summer at TLI!
