It is to the students best interest to apply early.
Decision Notification
Notification letters are usually sent out 10 days to 2 weeks after the completed application is received.
Notification is in the form of a letter sent to the student's home address, as
well as an email. The Technology Leadership Initiative is unable to provide
individual assessments or appeals to applicant decisions.
All Applicants Must Submit
- the online application
- personal essay (submitted with online application)
- one letter of recommendation (PDF): from the students' computer, math or science teacher. Recommendations received that are not from a computer, math or science teacher will not be accepted.
- most recent, official, academic transcript
- test scores: highest or most recent SAT, ACT, PSAT scores, if available (included on online application
Application Procedures
- have a computer, science or math teacher complete the recommendation form (PDF)
- complete the online application with a parent or guardian
- obtain most recent, official transcript from your school
- obtain test scores, if taken, from your school
- mail required materials to complete your application (see address on right side of page)
*applications will not be reviewed until all materials are received. incomplete applications will not be processed.
Personal Statement
Write an autobiographical essay (600 – 800 words). Address the following items in your essay:
- Tell us about yourself, why are you a good candidate for this program?
- Activities in your school, at church, at home, and in the community.
- Your interests, hobbies, and future goals.
- Do you have any Computing experience (such as, Programming, Robotics, Web Design)? If so, please describe your experience and examples of what you can do. For example, “I took a web design class at school and created a home page with tables, graphics, lists and inserted a you tube video clip.”
