Spotlight: Pitt CS Technology Leadership Initiative

The Pitt CS Technology Leadership Initiative (TLI), an outreach program designed to encourage under-represented and under-served high school students to pursue careers in computer science, is the recipient of a 2009 award from the Google RISE Program. Under the direction of Tonya Groover, TLI organizes each summer a 6-week program in which its participants are provided with the opportunities, tools and the motivation needed to pursue computer science related degrees and to excel academically, socially and professionally.

The summer program is provided at no cost to the participants, who primarily come from low-income, minority households.
