Plastic milk bottles are the start of the bobsleigh.Method

Start by marking the plastic bottle across one corner and include the start of the slope at the top.

Take your time to get the right shape and then cut along the line and around the bottom. This will become the front of the bobsleigh.

Use the front section from the milk bottle to cut card to shape. To make the bobsleigh base, use the bonnet (the front section you've cut from the milk bottle) to make a pattern. Place it on a piece of thin card and draw around the front and extend this shape for the back of the bobsleigh.

Use the bonnet again to shape the back. It should be roughly double the length and end up looking a bit like a big shoe insole.

Cut out this shape and use it to cut out another in thin card and two more in thick corrugated cardboard. If possible make the corrugations run in opposite directions to give extra strength.

Glue the layers together with the thin coloured card on the top and bottom. When the glue has dried, you will have a strong base to stick your bonnet onto. Glue the bonnet in place and add small pieces of sticky tape which will hold it firmly while the glue dries.

Cut out more plastic to extend the sides. To make the sides of the bob, you'll need the second plastic container. Cut out 2 rectangles that are long enough to reach from the edge of the bonnet to the back of the bob.

Stick the sides in place and trim them to match the curve of the bonnet and make curves at the back.

The seats are made from a washing up bottle. The seats are made from sections cut from a washing up liquid container. It has to be the cylindrical sort. Draw on the shape of seats using the bottom section which gives you the seat and backrest - you can get 2 from one bottle.

Carefully cut out the seats and work out where they look best before gluing in position. One at the back for the brakeman and one further forward for the driver.

Finishing touches to the top.Paint the whole bobsleigh in the colour of your choice. You can also decorate the base and the sides with some coloured sticky tape which makes the bobsleigh look very professional and hides all the joins. Or paint your own design on to the bobsleigh.

The handles at the back are pieces of a wire coat hanger. Use a pair of pliers (ask an adult to help you do this bit or do it for you) - and cut off the 2 curved ends. Glue in place.

Push the need through.Cut 4 runner shapes from the remains of one of the plastic bottles and use silver paint to paint them. Paint 4 small equally sized boxes to match the bob and then stick the runners on the long sides of the boxes. Stick the boxes to the bottom of your bobsleigh.

Then the bobsleigh is ready for action - and if you`re feeling artistic, you could paint a snowy backdrop or make a run for it.
