Conclusion and Future Work
A new transactional cache consistency maintenance algorithm: OCC-UTS protocol
- Implemented in a truly distributed fashion as an integral part of cache invalidation process
- Outperforms a competitor protocol
- Tolerance to disconnection is improved if the invalidation broadcast window size is extended
Possible enhancements
- Local verification of read-only transactions without the server’s intervention by processing the next invalidation report
- Allow a mobile client to access stale but consistent data items
Mobility of mobile clients when two or more servers are involved
