AAU Listing
AAU has published on its website a new list of major fellowship and traineeship programs at seven federal agencies, with a pie chart that shows the percentage distribution of program funding by agency. The list, which covers both graduate and postdoctoral opportunities, includes the name and a description of each program by agency, funding levels for FY09 and FY10, the number of annual student and institutional grants, and contacts for each program. This is a great source of large funding sources.
HFSP Research Grants - Young Investigators' Grants and Program Grants
The HFSP supports innovative basic research into fundamental biological problems with emphasis placed on novel and interdisciplinary approaches that involve scientific exchanges across national and disciplinary boundaries. In the past decade biological research has become increasingly quantitative rather than descriptive. The participation of scientists from disciplines outside the traditional life sciences such as biophysics, chemistry, computational biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, nanoscience and physics has contributed to this change and will continue to do so. Such collaborations have opened up new approaches for understanding the complex structures and regulatory networks that characterize living organisms, their evolution and interactions.
