CS 2450: Parallel Computing

Description

The fundamental principles of parallel computing systems are studied at the architecture level, the algorithmic level and the application level. Topics of specific interest include: MPP and SMP Architectures, including Multi-cores and Many-cores, Parallel Programming Models and Paradigms, Interconnection networks, cache coherence issues, design and analysis of parallel algorithms, resource and power management, and the application of parallel systems to solve real problems.

Suggested Course

CS 1510 and CS 1541 or their equivalent.
