Abstract

In this work, we present an approach aimed at supporting dynamic adaptations of applications. The approach consists in providing a lightweight framework with a reusable adaptation infrastructure and an adaptation language to express high-level adaptation policies. The framework-based approach is used to introduce dynamic adaptation capabilities into a server cluster infrastructure, intended to address power and performance management. By experimental evaluation, we demonstrate that our approach is practical and effective in providing the required support to describe and enforce typical power management policies for server clusters.
