11th Annual Computer Science Day
2010-2011 CS Day Awards
The 11th Annual Computer Science Day was a great success!! Everyone enjoyed all the activities throughout the day and into the evening.
Each year during CS Day, multiple awards are presented.
Graduate research and undergraduate projects are presented in posters. Prizes for the 2011 Poster Competition were sponsored The Department of Biomedical Informatics (1st place graduate), BNY Mellon (runner-up graduate) and the Department of Computer Science (1st place undergraduate). The 2010-2011 award recipients are:
- Best Graduate Student Poster - Marian Iskander
- Runner-Up Graduate Student Poster - Michal Valko
- Best Undergraduate Student Poster - Jesse Thomason
Graduate and undergraduate students could submit an entry for the Third Annual Business Idea Competition. The 2011 competition was sponsored by CEI. The 2010-2011 award recipient is:
- Business Plan Award - Socrates Demetriades and Pavlos Dimitriou
Students, faculty and staff show video and graphic clips of life in Computer Science for the 2011 Digital Media Award; The 2011 competition award was sponsored by Highmark. The 2010-2011 award recipients are:
- Real Life Video Category - Michael Lipschultz
- Digital Artificts Category - Daniel Walker and Benjamin Steele
- Elevator-Pitch - Michal Valko
Graduate students compete for the honor of the Best Research Award; the 2011 competition was sponsored by Compunetix. The 2010-2011 award recipients are:
