Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh, one of the first such departments in the United States. We hope that you enjoy your stay with us today.

Our department is one of over thirty departments and programs belonging to Pitt's College of Arts and Sciences. Our Oakland campus is home to over 26,000 students.

The University of Pittsburgh is located in the Oakland cultural section of the city of Pittsburgh. Symbolic of the University is the 42-story Gothic structure called the Cathedral of Learning, which is the second tallest academic structure in the world and features unique nationality rooms which pay tribute to the heritage of Western Pennsylvania.
