August 28, 2008:	I am giving a tutorial on Scheduling Continuous Queries in Data Stream Management Systems at VLDB 2008 in Auckland, New Zealand, together with Mohamed Sharaf and Panos Chrysanthis. (video of why CQ scheduling is important!).

August 24, 2008:	I am an invited panelist at DMSN'08.

August 23, 2008:	I am an invited panelist at PersDB'08.

August 15, 2008:	The edited post-proceedings of the Second GeoSensor Networks Conference are finally published through Springer, as Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Vol. 4540.

July 28-29, 2008:	Attending the 7th Hellenic Data Management Symposium (HDMS) at Heraklio, Crete, Greece.

July 24, 2008:	Mentioned in the University Times newspaper, for receiving an NSF Career award this year.

July 21, 2008:	One of six faculty featured in the official University of Pittsburgh newspaper (Pitt Chronicle), for receiving an NSF Career award this year.

July 9-11, 2008:	Attended the 20th International Conference on Scientific and Statistical Database Management (SSDBM) at Hong Kong.

May 31, 2008:	Attended the Tribute to Honor Jim Gray at UC Berkeley. The Proceedings are published as the June 2008 issue of SIGMOD Record.

May 15, 2008:	Participated in the PhD Dissertation Defense of ~~Mr.~~ Dr. Stavros Papastavrou, at the University of Cyprus.

May 13, 2008:	I got elected to the Computer Usage Committee of the University Senate (for a three-year term 2008-2011).

May 9, 2008:	Gave a talk at the Institute of Computer Science - FORTH, on User-Centric Data Management.

May 7, 2008:	I got promoted to Associate Professor with tenure (effective September 1st, 2008)!
